Neely Mansion
Located in Auburn, Washington.
Aaron and David Neely constructed this beautiful mansion between 1891 and 1894. It is build in Victorian Classic Revival style. The Neely Mansion Association has restored large part of the mansion and is still in the progress of completing the restoration. Neely Mansion is accessible for the general public.
The mansion and it's grounds once were made up of 200 acres (80 Hectares) . It was leased to farmers from as far away as Japan and Switzerland. Neely Mansion fell into a state of disrepair in the 1950's and 60's. Restoration work began in the 70's of the last century. An interesting feature is the outside bathroom. Neely mansion did not have plumbing or electricity during it's days as residence. Living space is approximately 2600 feet (+/- 240 m2). It is the oldest standing house near Auburn.
