Eiffel Tower

Located in Paris, France, Europe.
The Eiffel Tower (La Tour Eiffel) is a design by Gustave Eiffel, a French engineer. Finished on March 31, 1889, the Eiffel Tower at the time was the highest structure in the World. It remained so up until 1930 when the Chrysler Building in New York was completed. The Eiffel Tower welcomes almost 6 million visitors each year, making it the symbol of Europe to many foreigners. It was built to celebrate the French Revolution. It took just over 2 years to complete this 324 meter high structure. The Prince of Wales opened the tower. Curiously it was almost destroyed in 1909, only it's antenna saved it, used mainly for telegraphy. The following years it was used by the International Time Service, and several radio and television stations.

The Eiffel Tower hosts an exclusive restaurant called Jules Verne, reservations
are an absolute necessity. The top floor has a bar, souvenir shop and the office
of Gustave Eiffel.
